Abstract:

The research is interested in studying Ibn Adlan's reason and syntactic explanation in his book Al-Entikhab Likashf Al'abyat Almushkilat Al-E'erab; a traditional book that had not been thoroughly studied and is full of grammatical riddles that Ibn Adlan excelled in. 

In addition, the research is concerned with listing the types of rationales provided by Ibn Adlan to which the quoted textual evidences are arranged.  Moreover, the research sheds light on Ibn Adlan's reasoning approach as he was among those who paid attention to rationalizing and comes to conclusions, including:

• The Book has nine types of reasons and the most frequent among which is poetic necessity.


• Throughout his approach, Ibn Adlan mostly states the grammatical reasons and he might indicate them.


• Ibn Adlan might provide more than one rational for the same syntactical judgment.
