Abstract: The water in the Holy Qur’an
Water is one of God’s miracles. Besides, it is one of the biggest proofs for the greatness of God’s power and creativity. God has created everything from water. He has rendered water as the secret of life. Humankind, living things and plants cannot survive without water; life on Earth would perish. Where there is water, there is life and where there is no water, there is no life.
God did not create water in one, single form. To the contrary, he created water in different forms so that it would meet the different needs of people. Some of these different forms of water are:
Fresh water: people drink it, let their animals drink it, water their fields, wash their clothes and clean their homes with it.
Salt water: People obtain fresh meat from seawater, take out pearls and corals from seawater and use the sea for travelling and trade.
In fact, water will not only befriend people in this world, but will also befriend them on their life journey in the hereafter. Water, is a blessing and reward for people in this world. If one does not turn against God, water will not be something that one needs in eternal heaven but will rather be a blessing to take pleasure in. In addition, water will be, as a river flowing below heaven, a reward for humankind through God’s grace and benevolence.
