Abstract

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to know the methodology followed by Imam al-Qurtubi in reading the modes of the Quran reciting, collecting the reciting modes mentioned in Surat Al-Fatihah and the first part of Surat Al-Baqarah, studying, tuning, and directing and judging it, then following Imam Al-Qurtubi in mentioning this modes and explaining the situations where he was not successful at, and how many of each type. The researcher followed the inductive method in tracking and extrapolating all the modes mentioned by Imam al-Qurtubi within the limits of the study, the descriptive approach to describe those modes, directing them and determining their rulings, and the critical approach in the situations where Imam al-Qurtubi did not succeed when he presented the modes in terms of reading or to judge and grasp it.The importance of the study lies in the value of the scientific book to researchers, so that the specialists to read the reciting modes can show and clarify its conditions and give an adjusted and corrected presentation.The researcher found a set of results, including that Imam al-Qurtubi did not indicate his method in the mention of reciting modes, including that he did not adhere to a certain method steadily in the modes, but it differs from one situation to another, and from one verse to the other, including that it did not contain all the frequent reciting modes, not abnormal; but it is subjected to modes in some situations only.
