Balance between the method of the past prominent scholars and the method of Ibn al-Mundhir regarding of the effective cause of different narration

Abstract

Matter pertinent to (The effective cause of different narration) is one of the most focused area of researches in the sciences of Hadith (Prophetic tradition). Furthermore, it is one of the best ways to critically evaluate the mistakes of the narrators in the hadiths (Prophetic traditions) . Many past prominent scholars have treated this subject of (of effective cause different narration ) critically and objectively and implied it as a benchmark to detect mistakes in the narrators and they had their unique methodology with regards to it .Among those prominent scholars was Imam Ibn al-mundhir (A.H 319), (may Allah have mercy on him), who wrote in his book (Al awsat min as-sunan wa al-ijma’a wa al-ihtilaaf) a number of hadiths with different narrative pattern, and understanding how he applied it and is it consistence with previous schoolers methodology. The issue lie on this research to analyze the particular methodology of previous prominent scholars of dealing with the issue of (The effective cause of different narration), this wat of the previous scholar’s had been despaired gradually after the 3 century. By  virtue of ibn al- mundhir had contemporary that kind scholars and the scholars who come after them , so it was compulsory to study his methodology and compare it with the previous  prominent scholars methodology to understand his incidence by the methodology prominent scholars. The importance of this research  to address one of the greatest scholars of this knowledge and there is not  adequate study in his methodology  .To achieve the research objectives, the researcher in this paper applied the method which is : (the comparative analytical method) it is where  researcher description the hadiths by the following the methodology of ibn  al- mundhir in understanding the effective cause of different narration and analyze his  provisions on hadiths and compare his  provisions with past prominent scholars provisions. The research reached some significant results: ibn al- mundhir one of the greatest scholars on science of hadith he has a significant hadith Criticism methodology, the majority of his decision as same as the previous methodology of prominent scholars and that provisions are not constant but based on evidence. The research have  preface and two chapters  , the first chapter a bout the balance between the method of the past prominent scholars and the method of  Ibn al-mundhir , the second  chapter, studying the evidences which Ibn al-mundhir established his provisions methodology on it and after that a conclusion shown the results of this study.
