Evaluation of Islamic Education Teachers' Performance for the Required Teaching Methods and Modes

This study tackled the assessment of the Islamic education teachers’ performance in the High School Phase in view of required teaching methods and modes.
This study aims to know the Islamic Education courses’ teaching methods and modes which are the most used in teaching pupils of the High School, the scope of teachers’ diversification of these methods and modes, the impact of using them on the pupils’ awareness, thinking and comprehension, and the difficulties and obstacles limiting the use of the modern methods and modes of teaching the textbooks of Islamic education.
To achieve the goal of this study, the researcher adopted the analytical descriptive methodology so that it becomes possible to assess the holistic description by using the mode of surveying all data and then analysing the data to reach to the most significant results and to induct the previous studies relevant to this study. The sample of the study includes Islamic education teachers in the Secondary Schools in Sanhan Centre, Sana’a Governorate including the public and private schools. The sample community is composed of 37 male and female teachers. This sample was selected randomly.
Study instrument of the questionnaire is used by the researcher to assess the Islamic Education teachers’ performance and the modes and methods used in this questionnaire. In the questionnaire, the researcher considered the following parameters: its goal, its construction sources and its description. The validity of the instrument has been verified by presenting the questionnaire to some university lecturers and educationists. The researchers verified its stability by following the adopted steps in the academic research.
The study reached a group of results. The most important result is that the implementation of the questionnaire’s methods and modes of teaching the Islamic Education textbooks ranges between 3.41 and 3.89 which is a big assessment level. In addition, the study concluded that experience is important for using the methods and modes of teaching the Islamic Education textbooks.
